The information below represents some of the notable calls for service handled by the Verona Police Department between Friday (9/15) evening and Monday (9/18) morning. This information is not all-inclusive, but rather is preliminary information gathered from officers who investigated the calls.
- 9/15/23 @ 11:48 p.m. – An officer stopped a vehicle for a speeding violation. The odor of marijuana was detected by the officer, and subsequently, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were recovered. The 30yo male from Superior was cited for Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Operating without a Valid License, and Speed Exceeding Posted Limits.
- 9/16/23 @ 2:49 a.m. – Earlier in the evening, officers were requested to respond to a residence in the 100 block of Paoli Street to check on the caller’s intoxicated boyfriend. Officers interacted with the 38yo Verona man, who denied all allegations made by his girlfriend. Later the same evening, officers needed to return and ended up taking the man into protective custody and he was admitted to a hospital.
- 9/16/23 @ 3:38 p.m. – A disturbance was reported at a local bar. When officers arrived, they learned a former employee was harassing the bartender and customers. The 38yo man from Broadhead was asked to leave the property and was issued a trespass notice, prohibiting him from returning to the establishment.
- 9/17/23 @ 9:25 a.m. – Officers asked a 27yo man from Middleton to leave the property after he showed up at an ex-partner’s residence, uninvited. The 19yo Verona female was explained the process of obtaining a restraining order.
