The information below represents some of the notable calls for service handled by the Verona Police Department between Monday (7/3) morning and Friday (7/7) afternoon. This information is not all-inclusive, but rather preliminary information gathered from officers who investigated the calls.
- 7/3/23 @ 5:52 a.m. – A 43yo Fitchburg man was cited for travelling 93MPH in the 65MPH zone of USH 18/151.
- 7/3/23 @ 10:43 p.m. – Officers were dispatched to the report of a mailbox explosion with a small fire nearby. The investigation determined a firework was likely placed in the mailbox and the fire was started after the firework ignited.
- 7/4/23 @ 10:29 p.m. – A fireworks complaint led to officers educating a large party about legal and illegal fireworks. The group was less than happy to have to end their fireworks show; however, they did comply.
- 7/6/23 @ 3:03 p.m. – A citizen turned in a key found in Prairie View Park. The owner can call VPD and describe the key to have it returned.
