The City of Verona has 26 parks encompassing over 130 acres with a wide range of facilities for residents to enjoy year round. The goal of the Parks Department is to continually maintain and improve this growing park system so that it remains a valuable asset to the community.
The Urban Forestry Program is an offshoot of the Parks Department that is charged with the maintenance and care of over 4,400 publicly owned trees along City streets and within parks and public spaces.
Both of these Departments are staffed by a Director, four full-time employees, seven summer LTE employees and dozens of community volunteers. Oversight and direction of the Departments is provided by the five member Park, Recreation, and Forestry Commission.
